Goodwill Staffing Services is looking for a Woodshop Technician (Temporary-Position) in Corpus Christi, TX.
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Woodshop Technicians will use basic tools to assemble products in the commercial contracts workshop to agency and contract standards. The woodshop technician is expected to be professional while upholding the Goodwill values of -Empowerment, Public Trust, Respect, Innovation, Quality, and Safety.
ESSENTIAL RESBOBILITES, AND DUITES
Assist in manufacturing products in the commercial contracts workshop Take proper care of equipment and notify the crew leader of any malfunctions Maintain inventory and waste control of supplies, materials, and equipment and notify the crew leader when inventory is low Adheres to and enforces safety and loss prevention procedures to prevent injury to personnel and damage to property, equipment, and or inventory Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the woodshop area Ability to follow written instructions and interpret complex drawings to complete tasks Embrace the core values of the agency in the spirit in which the agency operates at work and in the community. Contribute to the fulfillment of department and agency objectives and goals Comply with all department and agency policies, procedures, and regulations Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Performs data entry and verification of data files Proficiency with hand and power tools Ability to follow written and verbal directions and instructions Ability to solve problems Basic math skills Ability to work alone or as part of a team to complete the production of products Ability to read, and write in English to comprehend and complete agency forms as required for operational purposes Ability to interpret and follow blueprints or schematics Adequate vision to utilize hand tools in a safe manner Ability to work with all levels of employees Ability to accept feedback and direction Preferred High School Diploma or GED certificate of completion One (1) year of experience working with hand and power tools
PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, stoop, bend, and crouch for extended periods
  • Weather conditions - variable - including extreme heat and cold, may work outside for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a humid and/or dusty environment
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
