The Mechanical Assembler supports Propell, a VoltaGrid company, by installing components, assemblies, and subassemblies on production equipment. This position performs mechanical assembly and repair tasks, supports diagnosis of hydraulic components and diesel engines, and ensures completed work meets drawing, quality, and production requirements. This is a safety-sensitive position working the Friday-Sunday weekend shift
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Install purchased, assembled, and preassembled components according to drawings, work instructions, and established standards. Perform mechanical assembly and repair work, including support for hydraulic component and diesel engine diagnosis as assigned. Use precision layout and measurement techniques to follow drawings, sketches, and revisions. Inspect installations and completed assemblies for proper fit, function, and workmanship; identify and address defects. Lift and move components safely and use hand tools, air tools, and shop equipment appropriately. Complete assigned tasks accurately and on schedule; coordinate work with other production team members. Maintain an organized work area, follow safe work procedures, and identify opportunities to improve processes and reduce waste.
Other Requirements:
Previous relevant work experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawing specifications and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to operate and maintain general hand tools, air tools, and applicable shop equipment. Strong teamwork, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills; willingness to complete ongoing training. Ability to consistently work Friday-Sunday, 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Stand and walk for extended periods, including shifts up to 12 hours; bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and climb as required. Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds independently; use assistance or mechanical devices for heavier materials. Use hands and arms repetitively to handle tools and equipment. Complete required OSHA and company safety training. Provide steel-toe footwear and required job tools. Propell provides position-specific personal protective equipment.
