Monday-Thursday 6AM-4:30PM Job Details The Assembly Technician is responsible for performing general production duties ranging from repetitive line/ assembly operations, checking for quality of parts, boxing the finished product, training other employees, and active participation in meetings. All tasks must be performed under an established time frame. This position reports to an operations Supervisor and relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Assembly Technician employees can rotate to other production areas of the business as needed. Responsibilities Place parts in specified relationships to each other. Bolt, clip, screw, tap, press or otherwise fasten parts together using supported portable air tools (tool balancers), power and hand tools. Tend machines, such as dual palm initiated, hydraulic presses to perform fitting or fastening operations on assembly lines. Operate various portable hand, power and air tools, i.e., screw drivers, wrenches, sockets, calipers, clamping devices, grinders, hand drills, belt sanders. Load/unload mild steel work pieces and parts from bins and carts. Operate material handling equipment including ergonomic lifting devices, mechanical hoists, air lifts, pallet jacks, utility carts, and hand trucks. Follow all safety rules, policies and safe work practices. Keep the area neat and in order. Inspect, clean, and maintain machines, tools, parts, stock, equipment and work area (uses petroleum products and general cleaners, i.e., mineral oil, simple green, hydraulic fluid). Report damage, wear, tear and other potential defects. Keep the area stocked with supplies. Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications / Requirements Must undergo pre-employment background screening Will be required to pass Audio Metric screening within 30 days of start date Steel toed boots within 2 weeks of assignment start date Demonstrated knowledge of safety procedures. Ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve problems in a timely manner Ability to effectively communicate ideas Ability to listen to others and appropriately act on information provided Ability to act in a courteous and professional manner at all times Ability to comply with Attendance Policy Physical Demands Work is performed indoors in a heated modern factory space. Ambient working temperature may range from 50 F - 90 F, depending on season. Work area is clean and free from wet, slippery conditions. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection and gloves. Respirator may be required if applicable. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the daily essential functions of this job during a 10-hour shift. Ability to lift to up 40 lbs. Ability to frequently (6-8 hrs.): talk and/or hear, see, stand, use hands, reach at or above the shoulder Ability to routinely (4-6 hrs.): bend, do simple finger grasping, lift waist to shoulder Ability to occasionally (2-4 hrs.): walk, lift floor to waist, reach above the shoulder, push, and pull using wheeled carts and bins Ability to on a rare basis (0-2 hrs.): Sit, kneel, or crawl, stoop or squat, twist, use of feet (foot pedals), lifting shoulder to overhead, climb (small ladder) or balance. Ability to read and understand written instructions, department paperwork & safety information Ability to operate hand tools and equipment such as cone or nozzle-type electrostatic painting equipment, supported air tools, portable power tools, hand tools, dual palm/ hydraulic presses, hoists, wheeled carts & bins, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and keep up with time-sensitive operations Benefits Available to
