Stone Quarry Plant Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Quarry Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our aggregate production facility. In this role, you will be fully responsible for production efficiency, safety compliance, financial budgeting, and team leadership. You will manage the entire lifecycle of stone processing—from extraction and blasting coordination to crushing, screening, and stockpiling—while ensuring a safe and profitable operation.
Key Responsibilities Production & Optimization:
Oversee daily plant operations to meet production targets. Optimize the layout and throughput of fixed plant equipment (jaw/cone crushers, screens, conveyors) to maximize tons-per-hour output.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
Enforce a strict culture of safety. Maintain total compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, with primary emphasis on MSHA mandates and environmental permits (dust, water runoff, and noise).
Maintenance Oversight:
Lead the maintenance to plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules for all fixed and mobile assets (loaders, haul trucks, excavators), minimizing unscheduled downtime.
Team Leadership:
Hire, train, and manage a diverse workforce, including equipment operators, mechanics, and scale clerks. Promote a respectful, high-performance team environment.
Community & Client Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for local community members, environmental inspectors, and key commercial clients.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
5+ years of progressive supervisory experience in an aggregate quarry or open-pit mining facility.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of crushing and screening circuits, blasting operations, and heavy yellow-iron equipment.
Certifications:
Valid MSHA Part 46 or 48 certification is required. MSHA Certified Trainer status or an absolute familiarity with MSHA inspection processes is highly preferred.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities, financial literacy, and the clear communication skills needed to lead a rugged field crew.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
