The Opportunity:
Our client, a major contributor in the agriculture sector, is looking for a Regional Grower to join their team in Rochelle, Illinois. Reporting to the Director of Growing Operations, the Regional Grower will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for multiple greenhouse growing facilities across North America. This role is responsible for optimizing crop performance, driving consistency in growing practices, implementing innovative technologies, and ensuring the successful execution of production objectives.

What Youll Be Responsible For:
Leading and supporting regional growing teams to achieve production, quality, and yield objectives.
Partnering with senior leadership to develop and execute long-term growing and operational strategies.
Standardizing growing protocols and ensuring best practices are consistently implemented across all assigned facilities.
Analyzing production metrics and operational data to identify opportunities for optimization and performance improvement.
Monitoring crop health, environmental controls, irrigation systems, integrated pest management programs, and nutritional strategies.
Leading continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, sustainability, and cost management.
Supporting business expansion efforts through operational assessments, facility start-ups, acquisitions, and integration projects.
Mentoring and developing Growers and Growing Managers across multiple locations.
Building high-performing teams by providing coaching, training, and performance management support.
Collaborating with Quality Assurance and Food Safety teams to maintain product excellence and customer satisfaction.
Building strong partnerships across Operations, Production, Sales, Supply Chain, Quality, and Executive Leadership teams.
Qualifications:
The Ideal Candidate:
Post-Secondary education in Horticulture, Agronomy, Agriculture, Plant Science, or other related fields.
10+ years of progressive leadership experience within commercial greenhouse vegetable production.
Demonstrated success in crop production optimization, operational excellence, and team leadership.
Experience supporting organizational growth, expansion projects, or large-scale agricultural operations.
Extensive knowledge of greenhouse crop production systems, environmental controls, irrigation, fertigation, and integrated pest management.
Strong understanding of food safety programs, HACCP principles, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and industry certification standards.
Must possess a valid driver's license and passport with unrestricted travel capability to support frequent travel throughout North America to greenhouse locations and operational sites.
