Production Control Manager ELSNER Engineering Works, Inc. - Hanover, PA Full-Time | Day Shift | On-Site ELSNER Engineering Works is seeking an experienced Production Control Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and flow of work through our custom machinery and precision manufacturing operations. This is a highly visible, hands-on role for someone who can connect customer priorities, engineering requirements, material availability, capacity, and shop-floor execution. The Production Control Manager will bring structure and accountability to the process—ensuring work is properly prepared, scheduled, released, and monitored from order entry through completion. What You'll Do Lead the Production Control function and establish clear priorities across manufacturing and assembly. Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer requirements, available capacity, labor, materials, and operational constraints. Ensure jobs are fully prepared and ready for production, including accurate drawings, bills of material, routings, material availability, and other required documentation. Coordinate the timely release of work orders to the shop floor. Monitor job progress, identify risks or delays, and drive timely resolution of production barriers. Facilitate regular production and capacity-planning discussions with Manufacturing, Assembly, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Sales, and Customer Experience. Balance competing priorities and communicate realistic delivery expectations to internal stakeholders. Use ERP data to evaluate workload, capacity, material status, job progress, and schedule performance. Improve the accuracy and consistency of production-related information within Epicor. Establish and monitor key performance indicators, including schedule attainment, on-time delivery, job readiness, past-due work, and production flow. Lead, coach, and develop employees within the Production Control team. Standardize processes, clarify ownership, and reduce reliance on informal or reactive production-planning practices. Support continuous-improvement initiatives that strengthen throughput, accountability, and customer performance. Escalate significant capacity, material, engineering, or quality constraints before they impact customer commitments. What We're Looking For Five or more years of experience in production control, production planning, scheduling, manufacturing operations, or a related function. Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience working in a custom, engineer-to-order, make-to-order, or high-mix/low-volume operation strongly preferred. Strong understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, work orders, routings, bills of material, inventory, and material requirements. Experience using an ERP or manufacturing planning system; Epicor experience is strongly preferred . Ability to interpret manufacturing documentation, drawings, job requirements, and production data. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to establish priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment with changing customer needs. Confident communicator who can coordinate across departments, constructively challenge assumptions, and hold others accountable. Practical, hands-on leadership style with a strong sense of urgency and follow-through. Associate or bachelor's degree in operations management, supply chain, business, engineering, or a related discipline preferred; relevant manufacturing experience may be considered in place of a degree.
