INDMPW2 JOB FUNCTION
Directs the activities of their assigned shift, ensuring production schedules are met, while producing a high-quality product in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner. Supports team member development and efficiency by providing sound leadership training. Supports the Plant Manager and the Plant-level initiatives including safety, a culture of clean, continuous improvement methods through communication, cooperation, and teamwork.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Specific to Production 1. Complete shift change reviews with incoming/outgoing shift supervisors, providing a detailed overview of the shift's production activities, challenges, and outstanding issues. 2. Conduct pre-shift meetings with team members to review work orders, process instructions, and safety or quality concerns. (Including Toolbox Talks). 3. Exercise supervisory control and direction over daily production activities, maintaining efficiency without sacrificing safety or quality. 4. Participate in completing daily production activities. 5. Ensure that work instructions are followed and team members are trained for work instructions, quality requirements, and safety items. 6. Analyze and resolve production and personnel concerns, with assistance from HR and/or the Plant Manager as necessary. 7. Oversee and ensure team members adhere to safe working procedures (e.g., operation of PPS equipment, follow SOPs, good housekeeping practices, etc). 8. Operate and oversee the wastewater treatment system; responsible for visual and quantitative testing, ensuring the effluent quality meets municipal guidelines. 9. Recommend measures to improve productivity, safety, and quality. 10. Report and manage workplace incidents and injuries per PPS procedures, assigning modified duties as necessary.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Specific to Shipping and Receiving 1. Collaborate with the Shipper/Receiver and oversee the shipment/receiving of customer/supplier product as per PPS training. 2. Keep the shipping/receiving area organized in a manner that facilitates access and identification. 3. Effectively communicate with all staff to increase productivity, cohesion, and foster a teamoriented atmosphere. 4. Accurately and timely complete administrative tasks (i.e., review team member attendance, machine/chemical cost collection, inventory, packing slips, and enter work orders in PPS' computer system accordingly) etc. 5. Perform quality inspections and report findings to the Plant Manager. 6. Assist in coordinating transportation of customer orders as required. 7. Report any discrepancies in known order information vs. the customer administrative requirements to the Plant Manager. 8. Complete and conduct employee performance reviews and evaluation meetings. 9. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma or equivalent education. 2. 2+ years supervisory experience preferred, ideally within the industrial cleaning environment/related to our line of work. 3. 3+ years of work experience within the industrial automotive or manufacturing industry 4. Ability to lead and motivate others to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation. 5. Professional oral and written interpersonal communication. 6. Proficient MS Office skills, preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds, as required. 2. Ability to maintain a consistent workload involving physical, manual labour with or without reasonable accommodation. 3. Ability to maintain alertness and fitness for duty. 4. Ability to wear applicable PPE as required.
