Full Job Description Production Materials & Cutting Supervisor Prestini Reed Corp — Nogales, AZ We seek a reliable, organized, and hands-on Production Materials & Cutting Supervisor to oversee the materials and cutting side of our factory. This position is responsible for preparing production materials, tracking raw material stock, operating and maintaining skiving equipment, assigning cutting work, receiving and dispatching work orders, and supporting efficient production flow. The Production Materials & Cutting Supervisor will work directly with management, office staff, department supervisors, production employees, and maintenance to ensure materials, cut parts, tooling, and supplies are organized and available for production. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily work in the materials and cutting area. Receive, review, and dispatch work orders for the cutting department. Assign and distribute cutting work based on production priorities and order demand. Maintain basic cutting reports, work order status, and material preparation updates. Identify bottlenecks, shortages, or workflow issues that may affect production. Monitor current and upcoming production needs to help management adjust priorities, labor hours, staffing needs, and material preparation needs. Communicate with management when work is high, low, delayed, or at risk of falling behind. Make sure employees in the assigned area are working efficiently, following instructions, and meeting quality expectations. Prepare materials for production, including leather, felt, and other production stock. Operate and maintain skiving machines and other material preparation equipment. Learn proper equipment operation, setup, basic troubleshooting, and machine care procedures. Monitor machine, tooling, and die performance and communicate repair, maintenance, or replacement needs to management and mechanics. Keep prepared materials, tooling, and supplies organized and available for production. Track raw material inventory, production supplies, tooling needs, and notify management of low stock and reorder needs. Train and guide employees in cutting and production tasks. Correct employees when work instructions, quality standards, or company policies are not being followed. Document employee performance issues, attendance problems, repeated mistakes, quality concerns, and disciplinary matters. Assist management with employee training, performance follow-up, discipline, and staffing changes when needed. Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient work area. Recommend improvements to make material preparation, cutting, tooling, equipment care, order flow, and supply tracking more organized and reliable. Requirements Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, production, machine operation, or a similar hands-on work environment. Previous supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience preferred. Comfortable working hands-on with production materials, tools, machines, and equipment. Ability to learn, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot basic equipment issues. Ability to supervise employees respectfully, professionally, and firmly when needed. Strong organization and follow-up skills. Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow up on cutting work, materials, and work orders based on production needs. Ability to identify bottlenecks, shortages, delays, and changing production needs. Ability to track materials, supplies, and low stock needs. Able to communicate clearly with management, supervisors, office staff, production employees, and maintenance personnel. Basic computer and Excel skills preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Must be reliable, responsible, and able to take ownership of daily department needs. Schedule Full-time 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM 30-minute lunch
