What to Expect The Robotics Supervisor leads and coordinates a team of Engineering Technicians supporting the Manufacturing Engineering team within the Optimus Assembly scope. This role oversees daily work activities to ensure high-quality, safe operations as technicians fabricate, assemble, and integrate mobile robot prototypes, validate new designs for manufacturability, and support new product launch schedules. The Supervisor maintains continuity of operations in the prototype shop and newly developed work cells, drives process efficiency from beta builds through ramp-up of robotics production, and manages workforce training, performance, and development. The Supervisor also serves as an advisor and decision-maker on project critical path issues, escalating and resolving complex technical challenges to reduce program risk. What You'll Do
Plan, supervise, and coordinate the daily work activities of the Engineering Technician team, ensuring high-quality, safe operations across the Manufacturing Engineering team
Lead technicians in the fabrication, assembly, and integration of mobile robot prototypes, including mechanical assemblies and electrical systems
Provide training, mentoring, and career development for technicians; schedule training and conduct performance reviews
Oversee validation of new designs for manufacturability, supporting new product launch schedules and continuity of operations in the prototype shop and work cells
Serve as advisor and decision-maker during project critical path situations, managing escalations on mechanical, electrical, and software issues to reduce program risk
Drive root cause analysis (FA) and countermeasure development across the team, reviewing task execution and communicating detailed work plans and test status updates to stakeholders
Ensure team adherence to standardized work, safety/ergonomics, quality, Takt time, and production rate and cost efficiency targets across all stations
Oversee group workflow and robotics stacking order, resource planning, and shift scheduling to support variable production and launch demands
Review evaluations of new parts and processes, providing feedback to design engineering on manufacturability improvements
Maintain documentation and communication platforms (e.g., Confluence, JIRA) to support team operations and continuous improvement What You'll Bring
Experience as an Engineering Technician or in a technical supervisory role within Robotics, Automotive, precision medical devices, R D, or Manufacturing
Associate Degree, relevant technical work experience, or equivalent, with hands-on experience using hand and power tools and high- and low-voltage systems
Proven ability to supervise a team of technicians, including scheduling, performance reviews, and career development
Practical working knowledge of process sheets, standardized work, and factory line operations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis (FA), implementing countermeasures, and following up to ensure effectiveness
Ability to interpret drawings and 3D CAD and read mechanical drawings; experience with CAD (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and/or electrical design (e.g., Altium) preferred; fabrication/machining or 3D printing experience a plus
Proficiency with key systems/programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, Enovia/CATIA/Delmia, Confluence, JIRA, and FX
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings, speak in front of groups, and manage escalations with stakeholders
Shift flexible with high commitment and ability to work a variable schedule, including daily/weekend overtime as needed
Ability to repeat physical/mental activities with accuracy, including responsible time management and prioritization skills Compensation and Benefits

Expected Compensation
$120,800 - $307,200/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
