About the Position We are an established architectural woodwork and custom millwork company based in Coconut Creek, Florida, seeking an experienced Production Manager / Shop Foreman to lead the day-to-day operations of our millwork shop. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone with strong experience in architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, woodworking, and shop production. You will be responsible for keeping production organized and moving—from approved drawings and materials through fabrication, assembly, quality control, and preparation for delivery and installation. We are looking for someone who can lead people, organize workflow, maintain quality, solve production problems, and take ownership of the shop floor. Key Responsibilities Manage daily architectural millwork and cabinetry production Schedule and prioritize jobs based on project deadlines and installation requirements Assign work to shop employees and monitor production progress Read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, elevations, details, and specifications Review drawings and materials before fabrication to identify missing information or potential production issues Coordinate closely with Project Managers regarding priorities, changes, field conditions, and project requirements Ensure materials, hardware, and components are available when required Oversee cutting, machining, fabrication, assembly, and preparation for delivery Maintain quality control throughout the production process Inspect completed work for dimensions, workmanship, drawings, specifications, and company standards Identify and resolve production problems quickly Coordinate with installation teams to ensure fabricated components are properly prepared for the field Track production schedules and communicate potential delays before they become critical Train, supervise, and hold shop personnel accountable for quality, productivity, and workmanship Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop Improve shop workflow, organization, efficiency, and production processes Ensure completed millwork is properly labeled, protected, packaged, and ready for delivery Help maintain machinery, tools, equipment, and other shop resources Enforce company safety procedures and proper equipment use Required Qualifications 5+ years of relevant experience in architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, woodworking, or a closely related trade Previous experience as a Shop Foreman, Production Manager, Millwork Foreman, Lead Carpenter, or similar leadership position Strong understanding of architectural millwork and custom fabrication Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and shop drawings Strong knowledge of woodworking materials, hardware, fabrication methods, and construction techniques Experience supervising and directing shop or production employees Strong understanding of quality control and professional millwork craftsmanship Ability to schedule and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively with Project Managers, installers, vendors, and shop employees Ability to take ownership of shop operations and work independently Hands-on leadership style and willingness to work directly on the shop floor when needed Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following is a plus: CNC machinery and CNC-based production Cabinet manufacturing Architectural woodwork High-end commercial or residential millwork Laminates, veneers, solid wood, and specialty materials Millwork hardware and specialty components Finishing and coordination with finishing vendors Cabinet Vision, AutoCAD, or similar software Production scheduling and job tracking systems Commercial construction and field installation coordination What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who can run the shop—not simply supervise it. The right person will know what is in production, what needs to be produced next, where potential problems exist, and what needs to happen to keep projects on schedule. You should be comfortable leading employees while remaining actively involved on the shop floor. Success in this position means maintaining an organized, productive shop that consistently produces high-quality millwork on schedule while minimizing mistakes, rework, and delays.
