Job Description

Rough Mill Foreman About Us We are a family-owned custom hardwood mill that has been serving the woodworking industry since 1946 . Our reputation has been built on quality craftsmanship, precision, and long-term customer relationships. We are looking for an experienced Roughing Mill Foreman to lead our rough mill team and help maintain our high standards of production and quality. Responsibilities Supervise the daily operations of the roughing mill. Operate and oversee the operation of straight-line rip saws, gang (rib) saws, table saws, and molders. Cut hardwood lumber and sheet goods accurately from shop drawings and production prints. Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and cut lists. Monitor product quality and ensure production goals are met. Troubleshoot equipment and production issues while minimizing downtime. Train, mentor, and supervise rough mill employees. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Coordinate with production and management to meet scheduling requirements. Perform maintenance on machinery and document (molder, saws and forklifts) Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in a rough mill, custom woodworking, cabinet shop, or related manufacturing environment.
Experience operating:
Straight-line rip saws Planers Jointers Table saws Molders Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints. Strong leadership and supervisory experience. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to identify common hardwood species. Solid background in carpentry, cabinetmaking, architectural millwork, or custom woodworking. Good fundamental math skills and ability to accurately read a tape measure. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Dependable with a strong work ethic. What We Offer Competitive starting pay of $25.00-$28.00 per hour , based on experience. Health insurance after 90 days. Full-time, year-round employment. Pay:
