Production Supervisor - Custom Manufacturing

Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a seasoned Production Supervisor to take ownership of a department in our custom manufacturing facility. This is a real leadership role — not a babysitting job. You will be responsible for the people, the product, the pace, and the quality coming out of your department every single day. We are a job shop, which means no two days are the same. Every order is custom. If you thrive in a dynamic environment where you have to think on your feet, adapt quickly, and keep a team focused and productive through changing priorities, this is the role for you. The right person for this job is someone who has been on the floor, understands the work, and has grown into leading others. You do not just manage from a distance — you are present, engaged, and accountable. Standard hours are M-F 6am-2:30pm. When working overtime they will be M-F 6am-4:30pm and Saturday 6am-12pm.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
People & Training Lead, develop, and hold accountable all production associates and department leads within your area Drive training on quality standards, production processes, and safety protocols — and make sure it sticks Conduct performance management with consistency and fairness Build a team culture where people show up, stay focused, and take pride in the work Production & Priorities Manage daily workload and adjust priorities in real time to hit production targets Keep the floor moving — minimize downtime, resolve bottlenecks, and keep associates productive for the full shift Coordinate with other departments to stay ahead of material needs, scheduling changes, and quality issues Identify problems early and implement solutions before they become delays Quality & Reporting Maintain a critical eye for quality — your department's output reflects your standard Use the ERP system to manage production reporting, track progress, and flag issues Ensure all work meets blueprint and shop drawing specifications before it moves forward
WHAT YOU BRING
Required Proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings — from simple to complex Strong people skills: you can motivate, redirect, and develop a team without losing their respect Results-driven mindset — you measure success by what actually ships, not just what was planned Comfortable with ERP systems for production tracking and reporting Flexibility to work overtime, extended shifts, and Saturdays when production demands it Preferred Background in cabinet, fixture, millwork, or commercial furniture manufacturing Experience in a custom job shop environment (not assembly line) Familiarity with construction or architectural products
WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT
You will have real authority over your department — this is not a figurehead position Custom job shop work keeps things interesting; you will use your brain every day Work alongside a team that values craftsmanship and takes quality seriously Stable company with a track record in commercial manufacturing for well-known restaurant, hotel, and retail brands Competitive compensation based on your experience and what you bring to the table Room to grow as the company grows
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is an active, on-your-feet leadership role in a working manufacturing facility.
You should expect:
Regular time standing and walking the production floor throughout your shift Exposure to typical manufacturing conditions — noise, fumes, airborne particles, and moving equipment Physical activity including lifting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching as needed PPE required in designated areas of the facility This is not a desk job. Great supervisors in our environment are visible, accessible, and active on the floor.
Pay:
$26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Benefits:
Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Application Question(s): Are you able to work overtime, including Saturdays?
