7.5% AAK Louisville About the role The Assistant Production Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the activities of the K2 Processing side, Refinery, Bleaching, RX, Hydro, L1, FOL and inventory. They are also responsible for tracking products ran from the schedule, the enforcement of company rules, ensuring that all employees are working safely, tracking product rates, training new employees, and keeping the work place in a clean and orderly manner. This will include organization and FIFO of received materials and supplies. Responsibilities Safety & Environmental Performance Lead the safety effort by personal example. Support full plant wide compliance with safety rules to further our goal of 0 accidents and encouragement of reporting and correcting near misses. Support contractors during major construction or anytime maintenance contractors are on site. Identify high-risk safety/productivity issues and help remedy them. Adhere to SOPs and other work procedures as required to assure product quality and consistency to our customers. Keep employees supplied with the essential tools, materials and information required for the products we are packing at the time. Enforce GMP compliance. Report any environmental issues to the immediate supervisor and EHS manager in order to correct any issues immediately. Work Requirements Ensure each employee is working in a safe environment and have each employee understand job safety is job priority number one Oversee production personnel, processes and productivity Estimate product status and completion of schedule Oversee and estimate staffing needs to maintain production productivity Look for better ways to be more proficient, efficient and cost effective in staffing personnel, the cross training of personnel to fill in without the use of overtime Responsible for making sure employees are trained properly, job knowledgeable and able to perform job adequately to provide customers a superior product Execute work in a safe and expedient manner according to the following priorities: Report safety hazards and issues Educate and motivate personnel about safety in Safety Is Job Priority Number One Present ideas for a safer work environment such as improvement to processes Provide practical solutions to operations/ controls problems. Train employees in light of their needs and company needs. Look for opportunities to help work get done safer, faster and more cost effective. Monitor the pack schedule for product changes. Keep track of product rates. Assign job duties as needed. Keep hourly rates and amounts of products packed and also track down time, Enforce non-compliance procedures (safety issues/ideas, production status, employee issues, equipment issues & other plant related issues. Cost Control Eliminate employee injuries by educating safety first Contribute to the effort in controlling costs and minimizing waste in product and shrinkage. Support goal of minimum employee staffing and still be able to have mass production. Support goal of cross training personnel to fill in gaps reducing overtime. Try and devise new SOP's and adjust processes to make production more efficient. About you High School Diploma or GED Microsoft Office and basic computer knowledge Good communication skills, able to motivate team members, be a good trainer and teacher, and have a good mechanical aptitude. Must have good math and reasoning ability. Able to apply general mathematical calculations, analysis of variance and other basic standard equations as required.
