The Night Operations Manager is the leader of dynamic teams that strive for a safe and cooperative work environment, while providing for optimum production levels of high-quality lumber. The Night Operations Manager oversees operations in the Sawmill, Planer Mill, Yard and Maintenance teams that operate the night shift. This Manager will direct, coach and lead in the safe and efficient production of high-quality lumber, with safety being always top priority. He/she will trouble-shoot and resolve any challenges that impede production goals. The Night Operations Manager is also an integral leader for the Stratton Lumber safety program and will direct and enforce safety protocols at all times, while identifying and correcting conditions that may be of concern. Interested candidates must be highly communicative, safety conscious, self-starting, innovative, quality orientated, and eager to grow. Flexibility in job responsibilities and scheduling a must. This position has potential to lead to future advancement and growth with the Company. Position Reports to : General Manager Position is Full-Time, Year-Round, Exempt Essential Responsibilities Ensure the mill team follows department and site safe work practices and PPE rules and procedures 100% of the time. Help lead Stratton Lumber's safety program by continually engaging in observation and remediation of any safety deficiencies; oversee OSHA compliance of facilities and activities; Proactively coordinate and lead the production teams to ensure the achievement of mill objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People; Ensure Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is done by each team member for each new work station. Conduct Safety Observations of staff. Responsible for Injury Reporting and Accident Investigation; oversees modified duty assignments for injured employees. Ensures monthly and other safety training is completed by all night staff. Ensures a positive working climate within the crew, ensure all are treated fairly and respectfully. Upholds company Mission, Vision and Values Ensure housekeeping meets or exceeds OSHA and company standards; Demonstrate the following: Teamwork, Problem-Solving, Time Management, Attention to Detail, Reliability & Dependability, Adaptability, Emotional Intelligence and Professionalism. Coach/develop/mentor department leads; meet daily to review safety and production goals. Ensures thorough employee training for initial onboarding and ongoing for production staff. Manage weekly production schedule to ensure product mix is aligned with sales requirements Maintains constant line of communication with daytime managers in order to ensure smooth flow of information between shifts; Manage and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce cost, and maximize the quality, value, and recovery of lumber produced; Work closely with Quality Manager to oversee manufacturing quality and meeting product specifications and customer expectations Monitor metric measurement systems to ensure consistency and assist in communicating key performance objectives; Proactively monitor production equipment to detect any abnormalities; Develop a climate which encourages the participation and involvement of department supervisors, millwrights and production team to pursue continuous development and continuous improvement; Be an advisory member of the project management team for capital expansion. Effectively communicate and collaborate with Day Shift managers regarding mill, maintenance and yard operations. Attend weekly Managers' Meeting.
Represent the company in a professional and positive manner when interacting with customers, vendors, suppliers, and fellow employees. Coordinate with maintenance resources daily and interact with peers. Other tasks as assigned. Equipment and Machinery

Weekly Payroll Completed by Noon on Mondays
Understanding of procurement procedures and practices
Previous experience in industrial production
Research and analytical skills; continuous learning.
Outstanding communication skills
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., twist, reach, climb, kneel, reach away from body, push, pull, grip and bend. Ability to stand for long periods of time; ability to properly wear all required PPE.
Satisfactory pre-employment physical exam and drug screening.
Pay:
$1,675.00 - $1,800.00 per week
