Summary:

Leads weld shop or assembly production operations within an aerospace machining environment, overseeing approximately 40 technicians and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements:

Aerospace machining industry experience required. Experience leading weld shop or assembly operations within an aerospace manufacturing environment. Experience managing production teams in a machining or fabrication setting. Experience supervising approximately 40 technicians or a comparably sized production workforce. Experience with aerospace welding, aerospace assembly, or both. Experience supporting production of aluminum thin-wall components or similar precision aerospace parts. Knowledge of manufacturing process improvement methodologies. Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident due to applicable government contract requirements.

Preferred Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related technical field. Significant production management experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Six Sigma experience. Kaizen experience. Experience implementing process changes within established manufacturing operations. Experience supporting production of heat exchanger components or similar aerospace assemblies.

Job Responsibilities:

Manage daily production activities within an aerospace weld shop or assembly operation. Supervise and direct approximately 40 production technicians. Oversee aerospace welding and assembly activities. Support production of aluminum thin-wall parts and heat exchanger components. Monitor production performance, workflow, and manufacturing output. Implement process improvements using Six Sigma, Kaizen, and related continuous improvement methods. Drive adoption of updated manufacturing processes, procedures, and production standards. Coordinate production priorities, staffing, and workflow across assigned operations. Monitor compliance with aerospace manufacturing requirements and production procedures. Identify manufacturing inefficiencies and implement corrective process changes. Track follow-up actions related to production performance and process improvement initiatives. Support production planning and execution within the aerospace machining environment. $160,000.00 - $210,000.00 per year
