Job Title:
Plant Processing Supervisor (Day Shift)
Job Summary:
The Plant Processing Supervisor leads daily plant operations from the floor, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met. This is a hands-on, high-energy leadership role responsible for supervising staff, coordinating production, and maintaining compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise daily processing operations and team performance. Remain actively on the floor, driving productivity and team engagement. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and food safety standards. Maintain inventory control and proper product rotation. Coordinate sanitation activities and support production continuity. Serve as primary contact for USDA inspectors. Train, coach, and support employees, including performance feedback. Monitor materials, workflow, and production efficiency. Operate and troubleshoot complex processing equipment. Reconcile end-of-day reports, including performing complex calculations. Support budgeting and operational planning. Step in on the line as needed to maintain operations.
Requirements & Skills:
Must be bilingual (English/Spanish). Strong leadership presence with high energy and a hands-on approach. Ability to operate complex machinery. Strong math skills for reporting and reconciliation. Quality- and safety-driven mindset. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Experience in food processing or similar manufacturing environment preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Reliable, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
Experience in food processing or similar manufacturing environment. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, BRC, and food safety standards. Sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment. Basic maintenance and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Advanced attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and operations. Effective time management and ability to prioritize in a high-volume environment. Ability to train, mentor, and develop team members.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods while working on the floor. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs consistently. Comfortable working in wet, cold, and temperature-variable environments. Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals and in food production conditions.
