Job Description

Burnside America, Inc. Founded in 2014 Burnside America Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Burnside Autocyl. We are a member of the Burnside group of companies which is one of the leading producers of hydraulic cylinders in Europe, serving OEMs worldwide. We have proudly been manufacturing hydraulic cylinders in Pennsylvania since 2016. The company is dedicated to supplying the OEM market with a broad range of cylinders of the highest quality for many diverse applications. Production Supervisor Provides leadership to the manufacturing team while facilitating lean production processes to ensure high quality manufacturing, good housekeeping, and safety standards. This is a direct hire position.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Lead the manufacturing team to improved performance by motivating and inspiring others to be effective and efficient in their activities
  • As the first point of contact, provide guidance and resolution of issues, and elevate problems to the production manager if needed
  • Continually improve the operational efficiency by proposing improvements that work towards lean processes and evaluate employee submissions for improvement
  • Responsible for ensuring production output goals while maintaining quality standards
  • Designates work assignments to ensure the most efficient use of time for employees
  • Ensures that essential tools and materials needed are available and accessible
  • Provide day to day and regular periodic performance evaluations
  • Assure work areas are kept clean and organized
  • Set the training schedule for new hires to set them up for success
  • Identify training and development needs as well as personal growth opportunities for employees
Basic Qualifications:
  • Ability to provide hands on technical support in a production environment
  • Must possess good communication and problem-solving skills
  • 2 years' experience supervising in a manufacturing or production environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to plan and organize projects
  • Knowledge of Lean metholodgy
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Working Conditions/Physical Demands Exposure to loud noises Exposure to outdoor temperatures Frequently moves boxes and parts weighing up to 40lbs Positions self to monitor equipment and access, retrieve, and place parts Pushing and pulling Working at waist height Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
