Production Supervisor (7am-3pm)

Job Description

Position Summary :
Supervises shop employees in a unionized metals manufacturing environment: plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
General Purpose:
Under the direction of the Production Manager, ensure all performance goals are met for the shift.
Position Responsibilities:
Balances safety, quality, productivity, cost and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Ensure effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution. Directly supervise all shift employees including shift maintenance employees. Schedules and coordinates movement of employees and work to ensure production, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provides regular progress reports to managers. Performs accident investigations. Utilize and reinforce Kaizen and Lean principles to meet operational and quality objectives. Identify and implement continuous improvement projects to increase productivity and efficiency. Effectively utilize shift employees and production/quality process controls in the most efficient manner. Ensure all SPC checks are performed in a timely manner. Ensure that policies, the union contract, projects, programs and methods are followed Collaborate with engineers and supervisors on all shifts, units and functions to meet operations performance goals Review and take action on current production reports and results Delegates projects and tasks to employees while providing direction and coaching Direct and coordinate training and development of shift employees.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering, related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing leadership and management experience. Experience in lean manufacturing concepts

ability to think ahead and plan to achieve necessary results
Management:
ability to organize and manage multiple priorities Problem Analysis and problem resolution at both the functional and strategic level
Schedule:
Monday- Friday 7am-3pm, rotating weekend coverage Paid a straight time hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a work week
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
