This position works closely with the Paint, Thermo, and Shears departments to coordinate workflow and production priorities. The Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining accurate production and staffing information, supporting employee training and development, processing timecards, and communicating equipment issues to Maintenance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader who can effectively balance production requirements, employee development, quality, safety, and communication across departments. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Production & Scheduling Develop, maintain, and execute the daily production schedule for the Trim Department. Schedule and prioritize orders based on production requirements, customer needs, and operational priorities. Monitor production progress throughout the shift and adjust priorities as necessary. Coordinate workflow and communicate production needs across the Paint, Thermo, and Shears departments. Identify potential production delays or constraints and communicate issues to the appropriate departments and Production Manager. Ensure employees understand daily production goals, priorities, and expectations. Maintain accurate production information and documentation. Team Leadership & Employee Development Provide daily direction and supervision to Trim Department employees. Build and maintain a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment. Train, develop, and coach employees to improve job knowledge, performance, quality, and productivity. Identify employee training needs and support the development of appropriate training plans. Maintain and update On-the-Job Training (OJT) records and requirements. Provide employees with timely feedback regarding performance and expectations. Hold employees accountable for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and workplace standards. Support employee development and cross-training to improve departmental flexibility and capabilities. Production Reporting & Administration Update hourly production information and maintain the Production and Staff-on-Hand Board. Track staffing levels and communicate manpower needs or concerns. Process and review employee timecards for accuracy. Maintain required production, staffing, and training documentation. Use available production and business systems to review schedules, orders, staffing, and other operational information. Communicate production status, priorities, staffing concerns, and significant issues to the Production Manager. Equipment & Operational Support Monitor equipment and machine performance within the Trim Department. Communicate with Maintenance when machine or equipment issues occur. Provide Maintenance with clear information regarding equipment problems and production impact. Coordinate production activities around equipment downtime when necessary. Ensure employees properly use hand tools, gauges, equipment, and other required manufacturing tools. Promote compliance with established safety, quality, and operating procedures. Required Qualifications 1-3 years of manufacturing experience. Previous experience leading, training, coaching, or directing employees preferred. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and production-floor operations. Experience using hand tools, gauges, and standard measuring or inspection devices. Basic to intermediate computer skills. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple production orders and changing requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated team-building and employee coaching abilities. Ability to train and develop employees. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to communicate effectively across multiple production departments. Preferred Qualifications Previous manufacturing supervisory or team-lead experience. Experience with production scheduling and order prioritization. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Experience with SAP, Epicor, Oracle, and/or similar ERP or manufacturing systems. Experience maintaining production, staffing, and training records. Experience coordinating production activities across multiple manufacturing departments.
