Full Job Description Position Description:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring that production schedules are met, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role reports to the Operations Manager and involves guiding a team of production workers, coordinating with other departments, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Production Supervisor Responsibilities:
Provide support to recruit and train new operators. Assigns responsibilities and oversees the daily workflow for production. Monitor production processes to ensure that products meet quality standards. Implement corrective actions when necessary. Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance. Make recommendations to Operations Management on coaching/counseling for production staff.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Identify, investigate, and resolve delays in shift operations, ensuring customer deadlines are met. Maintain accurate records of production activities. Prepare and present reports on production performance using various computer programs to include letters, spreadsheets and slide shows. Work with Operations Manager and other leaders to identify and address inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction. Perform general facility maintenance and repair tasks to machinery. Assists with production duties when needed. Ability to use various hand and power tools. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Basic understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong investigative and problem-solving skills. Ability to guide and train lower-level employees.
Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in manufacturing production & operations or engineering technology, or a related field or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires working in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to hot and cold temperatures, noise, dust, and other industrial elements. Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
