Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fabrication Supervisor to lead our metal fabrication team. In this role, you will oversee daily operations within the fabrication shop, ensuring that all projects meet quality standards, safety protocols, and production deadlines. Your expertise in mechanical and metal fabrication processes will drive efficiency and uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship. This position offers an exciting opportunity to coordinate complex fabrication tasks, mentor team members, and contribute to innovative construction projects. The ideal candidate is passionate about manufacturing excellence, possesses strong leadership skills, and has extensive experience working with various welding techniques and measurement tools. Responsibilities Supervise daily fabrication shop activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to guide fabrication processes. Oversee the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication of sheet metal and metal components. Coordinate with team members on assembly tasks involving sheet metal fabrication, plasma cutting, machining, and welding operations. Monitor the use of power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment including
MIG, TIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) in compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Conduct regular inspections of fabricated parts for dimensional accuracy using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Lead troubleshooting efforts on fabrication issues related to construction site experience or mechanical knowledge to optimize workflow. Ensure all team members follow safety protocols diligently while handling metal materials and operating machinery. Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, inspection reports, and safety records for accountability and continuous improvement. Skills Extensive experience with construction site operations and metal fabrication environments. Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints. Skilled in operating welding techniques including
MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, GMAW
; knowledge of AWS standards is essential. Strong ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for precise fabrication work. Mechanical knowledge related to assembly processes, machining, plasma cutting, and sheet metal fabrication. Familiarity with construction experience involving crane operation or heavy equipment is a plus. Ability to read shop math accurately for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks. Knowledge of safety protocols related to metal materials handling and power tool operation. Leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively while maintaining high standards of quality control. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with project managers and team members on technical specifications.
