Production Supervisor -
Wood Manufacturing Pay:
$30-$36/hour, based on experience
Schedule:
Full-time, Monday-Friday, daytime hours
Location:
Taftsville, Vermont No weekends Andrew Pearce Bowls is the largest hand-turned wooden bowl company in the country. We are looking for a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead our sawmill and rough-out department, where locally and regionally sourced hardwood logs begin their transformation into finished bowls and other wood products. This is a working supervisor position. You will lead the daily operation while also spending time on the floor operating equipment, solving problems, training employees, and keeping production moving. What You'll Do Lead the daily work of the sawmill and rough-out team Set priorities based on production needs and available material Work alongside the team operating sawmill, bandsaw, material-handling, and rough-coring equipment Train employees on safe equipment operation and quality standards Maximize usable material from each log while reducing waste Monitor output, quality, safety, and material flow Troubleshoot equipment and production problems Coordinate maintenance needs and routine equipment checks Keep the department clean and organized Coach employees and communicate performance or staffing concerns You May Be a Strong Fit If You Have Two or more years of experience leading employees in manufacturing, woodworking, construction, machining, maintenance, heavy equipment, or a similar hands-on environment Strong mechanical and problem-solving ability Experience setting daily priorities and holding a team accountable The ability to work safely around industrial equipment A practical, hands-on leadership style Previous sawmill or woodworking experience is helpful, but it is not required for someone with strong manufacturing leadership and mechanical experience. A degree is not required.
