Job Description

Specialty Millwork Program Supervisor Victory Millwork This is an in person on-site full-time position at our Lynden, WA 98264 manufacturing facility.
Pay information:
$26.45-$31.78 per hour
Role:
The Specialty Millwork Program Supervisor shall uphold the Lynden Door Statement of Purpose through exemplary leadership of the Specialty Millwork Program, promoting a culture of safety, exceptional quality and craftsmanship, productivity, continuous improvement, and customer service. This will be realized through hands-on woodworking expertise, effective communication, consistent execution of standard operating procedures, developing people and refining production processes. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the Specialty Millwork Program and is responsible for supervising 1-3 working leads and 6-20 production team members. The ideal candidate brings strong millwork, cabinetry or fine woodworking skills and the leadership ability to guide others to the same standard.
SPECIALTY MILLWORK PROGRAM OPERATIONS
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Specialty Millwork Program, from order review through fabrication, assembly, finish preparation and shipment. Review shop drawings, specifications and customer orders for specialty and custom millwork; resolve build questions, material requirements and potential issues before work is released to the floor. Determine build methods, sequencing, and jigs and fixtures for custom and low-volume products to achieve consistent quality and efficient throughput. Provide hands-on technical direction on layout, joinery, assembly, fitting and finish preparation; step in to build, repair or troubleshoot complex pieces when needed. Oversee material selection and use, including hardwood species, grain and color matching, veneers, and drive good yield practices to minimize waste. Coordinate with sales, estimating, purchasing and scheduling on feasibility, lead times, material availability and program priorities. Help grow the program by evaluating new products, processes, tooling and equipment.
PRODUCTIVITY & PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT
Manage the efficiency of startup and shutdown of program work centers. Review daily production performance of program work centers to target. Lead problem solving efforts to address production abnormalities in the program. Manage time and attendance records for team members and approve time off requests. Plan daily/weekly machine staffing. Establish production (capacity) standards and labor estimates for specialty millwork work centers and products. Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for process improvement. With Maintenance Leadership, coordinate preventive maintenance requirements, repairs and tooling replacement to optimize uptime. Experience safely setting up and operating woodworking machinery; CNC experience a plus. Experience in the millwork industry and wood products manufacturing preferred. Formal training (apprenticeship or trade school) and familiarity with AWI Architectural Woodwork Standards preferred. Applied knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints). Positive attitude, servant's heart, flexible and adaptable. HOURS:
Full-Time, 7:00am- 4:00 pm, M-F with overtime as needed
