Position Summary Northwest Napkin is seeking an experienced Night Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations during the swing shift. This role is responsible for overseeing multiple production lines across our Napkin, Cup, and Rewinder departments. The Night Manager plays a critical role in ensuring safety, quality, and output goals are consistently met. Additionally, maintaining smooth shift handoffs, troubleshooting operational issues, ensuring company policy adherence and keeping workflow across the plant floor during evening and overnight hours. Key Responsibilities Provide active, hands-on leadership on the production floor throughout assigned shifts, leading with professionalism, integrity, and respect. This position requires regular engagement with employees, equipment, and production processes and is not primarily a desk-based role. Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations during the swing shift, overseeing the Napkin, Cup, and Rewinder production lines, and maintaining consistent workflow and production standards across the plant floor. Drive performance against safety, quality, and output goals across all lines. Coach, develop, and hold supervisors and employees accountable for performance, attendance, conduct, and safety expectations, fostering a positive and accountable work environment. Ensure smooth, well-communicated handoffs between day, swing, and night shifts. Troubleshoot operational issues as they arise, partnering with Maintenance and Quality to identify root causes, implement sustainable corrective actions, and minimize downtime and production disruptions. Monitor machine operation and enforce safety protocols to ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA standards. Maintain accurate, timely, and objective documentation, including production records, shift reports, and communication logs, as well as documentation related to employee performance and attendance. Respond to and help resolve staffing gaps, call-outs, and scheduling issues during the shift. Make sound decisions based on facts, policy, operational priorities, and business needs, demonstrating adaptability and composure while collaborating across shifts and departments to resolve issues promptly. Qualifications Prior experience in a manufacturing plant environment in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a paper or related field. Experience managing multiple production lines or teams simultaneously preferred. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead clear shift handoffs and coordinate across teams. Familiarity with safety protocols and quality standards in a manufacturing setting. Ability to work independently during hours with reduced on-site leadership support. Strong organizational skills and comfort managing shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in basic English; bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the plant floor for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 75lbs. Comfortable working in a manufacturing floor environment (noise, machinery, varying temperatures). Schedule Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM.
