The Production Control Clerk supports the Sales and Production Control teams by ensuring the accurate and efficient transfer of sales orders into manufacturing jobs. This role is responsible for coordinating the flow of documentation and information between departments to ensure that all product, documentation, quality, and technical requirements are met for successful and timely manufacturing. The Production Control Clerk plays a key role in maintaining clear communication and documentation throughout the production planning process.

Production Control Clerk:
High school diploma or GED is required. A college degree in manufacturing, business, or a related field is a plus, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Experience working in a manufacturing environment with an ERP system is desired. Familiarity with bills of material (BOMs) is a strong plus. Responsibilities of Production Control Clerk Enter purchase order (PO) requests, review part numbers and alloy codes for accuracy, and manage inventory by generating minimum stock reports and ordering materials as needed. Handle returns, repairs, and in-process change orders efficiently. Maintain accurate part number data in the ERP system, manage low-level product revisions, and process small-scale Engineering Change Notices (ECNs). Support job entry and assist with product revisions and updates as required. Review production job requests, determine optimal production quantities and routing, and enter jobs into the ERP system. Coordinate closely with Sales, Manufacturing, and Engineering to ensure proper resource planning and job execution. Collaborate with CAD, Sales, and Engineering to generate accurate technical drawings, create new part numbers, and build bills of material for new or revised products. Identify and resolve material shortages and scheduling conflicts, ensuring material availability and proper job linkage. Communicate updates and changes clearly to Purchasing, Sales, and Production teams to support timely and accurate manufacturing outcomes. Qualities of Production Control Clerk Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry and documentation. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat; capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings. Solid understanding of manufacturing and industrial concepts, including knowledge of electrical systems, coatings, and piping. Familiarity with company operations, policies, and procedures, and an understanding of material terminology and flow within a production environment.
