CPC Eatonton is a manufacturer of quality livestock feeds and supplements for industry leading producers. Our Eatonton, GA plant is hiring a Batch Operator Assistant to support daily feed manufacturing operations by assisting the Batch Operator in accurately weighing, mixing, and producing high-quality feed products
Position Purpose:
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Batch Operator Assistant to join our production team. This position helps ensure production schedules are met while maintaining product quality, feed safety, equipment cleanliness, and operational efficiency. The Feed Mill Batch Operator Assistant works as part of the production team to safely handle ingredients, operate equipment, and maintain an organized work environment.
What you will be doing:
Assist the Batch Operator with the daily production of feed according to established production schedules, formulations, and quality standards. Load ingredients into batching and mixing equipment accurately and efficiently. Monitor ingredient bins, conveyors, mixers, and related production equipment to support smooth operations. Bag, stack, label, and move finished feed products for storage or shipment. Assist with receiving, unloading, and storing bulk and bagged ingredients. Maintain cleanliness of the production and warehouse areas by sweeping, shoveling, cleaning equipment, and removing spilled materials. Assist with routine inspections of production equipment and promptly report maintenance or operational concerns. Help maintain accurate production records, inventory counts, and related documentation. Follow all feed safety, quality assurance, and company operating procedures. Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as authorized. Work collaboratively with production team members to meet daily production goals safely and efficiently.
Skills we are looking for:
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Basic understanding of manufacturing or production processes. Strong attention to detail to ensure ingredient accuracy and product quality. Ability to safely operate or learn to operate feed manufacturing and material handling equipment. Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective communication and organizational skills. Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards. Ability to adapt to changing production priorities.
Qualifications needed:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous manufacturing, agricultural, warehouse, or feed mill experience preferred but not required. Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification upon hire. Basic math and reading skills sufficient to follow formulas, production schedules, and work instructions. Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, as production demands require. Physical and environmental demands to consider: Standing and walking for extended periods. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and twisting. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance or mechanical equipment. Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Sufficient vision, hearing, and dexterity to safely perform essential job functions. Regular exposure to grain, feed, ingredient, and dust particles. Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and weather conditions while working indoors and outdoors. Frequent exposure to moving mechanical equipment, forklifts, conveyors, and truck traffic. Moderate to high noise levels. Regular climbing of stairs, working around elevated platforms, and navigating uneven walking surfaces.
