Job Description

IMS Buhrke-Olson, an industry leader in precision metal stamping and assembly with manufacturing locations in the US and Mexico, is seeking 1st Shift Press Operators for its Arlington Heights, IL facility. Seeking self-motivated individuals who are able to work on their own and with a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment! This is a full-time position with benefits including vacation, medical/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, 401k , Competitive wages and more! Perform progressive die and/or secondary (single stroke) punch press operations on various types of punch presses (60 through 600 ton straight side, all gap frame/OBI and high speed Bruderers) according to Production Work Instructions and OSHA standards. Monitor proper working conditions of machines and various types of safety equipment. This includes electrical and mechanical sensors, tonnage monitors and interlock switches. Inspect parts during the run using gages, fixtures, visual aids and other inspection equipment that may be job specific. Refer to Production Work Instructions. Detect faulty operations and nonconforming parts. Report all tool and/or production problems to Production Supervisors. Follow and perform work instructions, comply with all company policies, rules and practice. Complete applicable production and quality documents. Participate in physical inventory activities. Perform secondary operations (assembly, part washing, packaging, etc.) Perform strip starts for progressive die operations if applicable/competent. Participate in general cleaning of production areas. Perform crimping operations if applicable/competent. Perform assembly operations if applicable/competent. Perform welding operations if applicable/competent. Competencies (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the job successfully.) Education/Training
  • High school diploma required. Training on micrometers/calipers/height gages helpful. If not yet trained, will be trained by company. Basic punch press training classes preferred. Experience
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience within a manufacturing environment or a combination of relevant education and experience. Language Skills
  • Must be able to read English production and quality documents. Must be able to communicate with supervisors and other employees in work cell. Computer Skills
  • Must be able to enter data into computer (clock in and out/ quantities). Other
  • Must be willing to work extra hours depending on business needs.
