Feed Mill Receiving Attendant MPS Egg Farms' Feed Mill facility located in North Manchester, Indiana is hiring for a Feed Mill Operator position to work on second shift. Position Summary:
Feed Mill Receiving Attendant The Receiving Attendant is responsible for safely receiving, inspecting, unloading, and documenting incoming raw materials used in feed manufacturing. This position ensures that all ingredients meet quality standards, maintains accurate inventory records, and supports efficient feed mill operations while adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Core Responsibilities:
Receive incoming deliveries of grain, meal, minerals, liquids, and other feed ingredients. Verify shipment quantities and documentation against purchase orders and bills of lading. Collect and submit samples for quality testing as required. Inspect incoming materials for contamination, damage, moisture issues, or other quality concerns. Direct truck drivers to designated unloading locations and ensure safe unloading procedures are followed. Monitor ingredient storage bins and tanks to maintain inventory accuracy. Maintain cleanliness of receiving areas, pits, and surrounding workspaces. Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation activities. Communicate quality concerns, equipment issues, or inventory discrepancies to supervisors. Follow all company safety policies, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), and OSHA regulations. Support other feed mill operations as needed.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to operate material handling equipment safely. Basic math and recordkeeping skills. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and dusty environments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Previous feed mill, grain handling, agriculture, manufacturing, or warehouse experience. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, and work at heights. Ability to work around moving machinery, dust, noise, and outdoor conditions. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, gloves, and respirators when required. Working Conditions Feed manufacturing and grain receiving environment. Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and temperature extremes. Rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and holiday work may be required based on production demands. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Knowledge of feed ingredients and grain quality standards. Biosecurity/Animal Welfare The jobsite is a bio secure environment which requires the strict daily adherence to established biosecurity processes and procedures before entering the facility.
