Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Straightening Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining straightening presses used to shape and refine metal components. Your expertise will ensure that metal sheets and parts meet precise specifications, contributing to the overall quality and efficiency of our production process. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and play a vital role in delivering high-quality metal fabrication products. Duties Set up, operate, and monitor straightening presses to ensure optimal performance and safety standards. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and tooling instructions to accurately configure machines for each job. Use precision measuring instruments and measurement tools to inspect parts for conformance to quality specifications. Adjust machine settings based on measurements and blueprint requirements to achieve desired specifications. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and document machine performance or malfunctions for timely repairs. Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety standards in production environments. Collaborate with team members on setup changes, quality inspections, and process improvements to enhance productivity. Requirements Proven experience operating pressing machines such as stamping presses or forming machines in a manufacturing setting. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and tooling instructions accurately. Ability to use precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments for quality control purposes. Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments and commitment to maintaining a safe workspace. Basic math skills including shop math necessary for machine setup and measurement calculations. Experience with metal fabrication techniques such as sheet metal forming, welding, stamping, and assembly is desirable. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues quickly and efficiently. Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality finished products in accordance with specifications.
