Organizing Assistant The Thoughtful Home Shrewsbury, MA Job Details Part-time $25 - $30 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Automobile transportation Client rapport building Attention to detail Organizational skills Waste sorting Mobile devices Waste transport Full Job Description Overview The Thoughtful Home is a luxury home organizing and move management company serving Boston's suburbs — Concord, Wellesley, Newton, Natick, Shrewsbury, Southborough, and surrounding towns. We help clients edit their belongings, design efficient organizing systems, and move into their homes fully unpacked and ready to live in from day one. We're looking for a hard-working, highly organized Assistant Organizer to join our team. This role works hands-on with clients' homes and belongings, so attention to detail and a calm, professional presence matter as much as the physical work.
Details Reports to:
Lead Organizer, with oversight from the owner
Status:
Part-time, non-exempt employee
Hours:
5-25 hours/week; hours vary based on active projects and are not guaranteed
Compensation:
$25-30/hour Common Tasks Sort, move, and store client items on site under the direction of a Lead Organizer Group a client's possessions for easy editing and purging, and place kept items into organizing systems Maintain a tidy, professional work environment throughout each project Assist with managing organizing supplies and inventory Responsibilities On Site Sort and tag items by room or category, creating clear groupings for client review Occasionally work directly with clients to assist with editing or purging belongings Sort trash, recycling, shredding, and donations into the correct on-site receptacles Build organizing systems for retained items as directed by the Lead Organizer Collaborate with the Lead Organizer on container selection and shopping lists Label bins, boxes, and containers using a label maker or specialty labeling system Assemble small furniture items (storage boxes, shelving units, etc.) Transport organizing materials, donations, shredding, trash, or recycling to off-site locations as needed Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Lead Organizer Administrative Log time and expenses daily in the company time-tracking app Keep availability current in the company scheduling system Review the schedule daily for upcoming assigned projects Coordinate with the Lead Organizer on pre-project prep, project wrap-up, and travel logistics Take and upload progress photos throughout each project Review client folders and to-do lists before and during each project Complete an inventory count at the end of each session Submit mileage and expenses ahead of each payroll deadline Requirements Basic understanding of organizing techniques (prior professional experience a plus, not required) Comfortable working closely as part of a small team Tech-comfortable — smartphones, cloud-based apps and scheduling tools Able to lift 40 lbs and climb stairs Reliable vehicle with room for donation drop-offs and product supplies Strong attention to detail Clear, professional communication Positive, adaptable attitude Solid time management Willingness to learn and take direction Genuine empathy and kindness toward clients — you're often in their home during a stressful transition Schedule Core hours: 9:00 AM-3:00 PM, Monday-Thursday Availability needed 3-4 days per week Occasional evening or weekend time for reviewing documents and communication To apply: Email these items to with "Assistant Organizer" in the subject line: Your resume Your available start date Record a 90 second or less video introducing yourself.
