Schedule:
Monday - Friday Position Summary The SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Technician is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of SMT production equipment to ensure efficient, high-quality electronic assembly. This role supports production by operating key machinery including screen printers and pick-and-place systems, while maintaining adherence to process standards and quality requirements. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor SMT equipment, including screen printers and pick-and-place machines, to support production schedules. Perform machine setup, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Ensure accurate solder paste application and component placement according to production specifications. Inspect PCB assemblies for defects and verify quality standards are met. Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve process issues. Maintain and clean SMT equipment to ensure optimal performance. Follow ESD, safety, and company procedures at all times. Document production data, issues, and corrective actions as required. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred. 2+ years of experience in an SMT manufacturing environment (preferred). Hands-on experience operating SMT screen printers and pick-and-place equipment. Basic understanding of electronic components and PCB assembly processes. Ability to read work instructions, assembly drawings, and BOMs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Preferred Skills (Plus Qualifications) Experience with SMT machine programming is a strong plus. Experience working with Juki SMT equipment is highly desirable. Familiarity with SPI (Solder Paste Inspection) and AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) systems. Knowledge of IPC standards (such as
IPC-A-610
). Work Environment Manufacturing/production floor environment. May require standing for extended periods and handling small components.
