We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Stamp Press Operator to join our manufacturing team across all shifts. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of stamping presses used for metal fabrication and sheet metal forming. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, comprehensive understanding of machine operation, and adherence to safety standards. As a Stamp Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining stamping presses to produce high-quality metal components in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to precision manufacturing processes while ensuring safety and quality compliance. Responsibilities Operate various stamping presses, including mechanical and hydraulic models, ensuring optimal performance during production runs. Set up machines by interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications; adjust tooling and press settings accordingly. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs or potential issues, ensuring continuous operation. Utilize precision measurement instruments and shop math skills to verify dimensions and quality of finished parts. Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper machine guarding, lockout/tagout procedures, and personal protective equipment usage. Perform quality inspections on finished products using measuring instruments to ensure they meet specified tolerances. Maintain accurate production records, report any malfunctions or safety concerns promptly, and assist with troubleshooting machine issues. Support the setup and operation of related equipment such as CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, and welding tools as needed. Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and metal fabrication projects to meet production deadlines. Adhere strictly to safety standards in production environments while maintaining high levels of precision and efficiency. Qualifications Proven experience operating stamping presses or similar metal forming machinery in a manufacturing setting. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining is preferred. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision tools for quality control. Knowledge of shop math principles including basic math calculations relevant to machining and forming processes. Ability to operate hand tools and forming machines safely while maintaining high standards of quality. Strong understanding of safety standards in manufacturing environments including lockout/tagout procedures. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues efficiently.
