Minimum 2 years of plate rolling experience preferred/required based on qualifications

Job Duties:

Set up and operate plate rolling machines to bend, curve, and form metal plate into cylindrical, conical, and other rolled shapes.

Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, weld symbols, and shop drawings.

Operate pyramid, pinch, or 3-roll plate rolling machines.

Calculate and adjust roll settings, roll gaps, and feed rates to achieve required dimensions and tolerances.

Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum plate.

Use overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment to position plate stock.

Measure completed work using calipers, radius gauges, templates, tape measures, and other precision measuring tools.

Identify and correct flat spots, ovality, misalignment, and other out-of-tolerance conditions.

Perform tack welding or coordinate with welding personnel when required.

Inspect incoming plate materials for defects.

Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning of rolling equipment.

Complete required production and quality documentation.

Work closely with welders, fitters, and quality-control personnel.

Follow lockout/tagout, PPE, rigging, lifting, and machine-safety procedures.
