Job Title:
General Production Worker 1st Shift (Digital Department) $18.50 Job Description This role focuses on operating a single digital production machine within a large, climate-controlled printing facility. You will set up the machine, monitor its performance, and ensure products are accurately counted and stacked as they come off the line. The position involves light, routine lifting up to 20 lbs, basic computer use, and extended periods of standing while overseeing the machine. You will receive full training on operating Tecnau digital presses, including loading paper rolls and entering orders into the computer system, with onsite technical support available for any machine issues. Responsibilities Set up and operate a designated Tecnau digital production machine according to established procedures. Load paper rolls at the front of the machine using rolling methods that do not require heavy lifting. Enter production orders into the computer system and verify that job details are correct before starting runs. Monitor the machine continuously to ensure it is running correctly and address basic operational issues as they arise. Observe the product flow through the machine and maintain consistent quality standards. Count finished products accurately and stack them neatly at the end of the machine for further processing or packaging. Perform light lifting of materials and finished products up to 20 lbs on a regular basis. Use a computer at a basic level, such as opening PDF files and emails, to support production tasks. Follow all safety guidelines, including proper handling of equipment and adherence to dress code requirements. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support frequent client tours and overall facility standards. Collaborate with onsite Tecnau technicians when machine breakdowns or technical issues occur to minimize downtime. Support general production activities as needed, including packing and basic general labor tasks related to printing and packaging. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to maintain consistent production schedules. Participate in cross-training opportunities to learn additional machines and departments as business needs evolve. Essential Skills At least 1 year of continuous employment with a single company, demonstrating reliability and commitment. Ability to stand for extended periods while monitoring production equipment. Capability to perform light lifting up to 20 lbs on a regular basis. Basic computer skills, including the ability to open PDF files and emails. Ability to count accurately to 10 for product verification and stacking tasks. Strong attendance record, supported by references from previous employers. Comfort working in a loud, fast-paced production environment with multiple machines running. Attention to detail to ensure products are counted, stacked, and handled correctly. Willingness to follow safety guidelines and adhere to facility dress code requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in printing operations, such as press, digital, or flexographic (flexo) printing. in general production, machine operation, or packaging work. Experience working with printing presses or digital production equipment. Interest in cross-training on multiple machines and in different departments to increase versatility. Dress code requirements include close-toed shoes, no long or dangly items that could be caught in machinery (such as loose hair or sweatshirt strings, which must be tied back or secured), no dangly jewelry, and clothing and caps without profanity. The facility uses Tecnau digital machines with onsite technicians, and the work involves standing for most of the shift, light lifting, and hands-on interaction with modern printing and production equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hartland, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
