We're seeking a detail-oriented Quality Specialist to support our environmental lab team in Kilgore, TX. In this role, you will help maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 17025, NELAC/TNI, and client requirements. You'll work closely with laboratory and operations teams to support audits, corrective actions, data quality, and documentation processes in a regulated, high-throughput environment. What You'll Do Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 17025, NELAC/TNI, and internal standards Support internal and external audits, including preparation and follow-up Investigate and track non-conformances and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) Review laboratory data, reports, and client deliverables for accuracy, traceability, and compliance Maintain controlled quality documentation, including SOPs, method validations, and change records Support proficiency testing (PT) programs and interlaboratory comparisons Monitor instrument calibration, verification, and maintenance records Assist with statistical quality control (SQC), data trending, and continuous improvement initiatives Track training records and competency documentation Maintain accurate, compliant, and review-ready quality records and systems within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Collaborate with laboratory staff to reinforce quality procedures, GLP, and regulatory requirements Perform other duties as assigned Requirements What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or relevant scientific discipline 1+ years of professional experience in laboratory quality, QA/QC, or quality systems roles, preferably within an accredited or regulated environment Working knowledge of ISO 17025, NELAC/TNI, or similar regulatory standards Experience supporting or managing quality documentation, audits, and CAPA processes preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) ; experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) strongly preferred What We Offer Competitive hourly pay Annual reviews with consideration for performance-based increases Opportunities for career growth and advancement Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match Employer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance Paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays Paid parental leave Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Tuition reimbursement and professional development support Work Schedule & Travel Full-time, onsite position Ability to work outside of scheduled hours as required during audits or to meet certain reporting deadlines Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion At SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
