The QA Supervisor is responsible for the Companys quality and food safety performance on the assigned shift. Reporting to the QA Superintendent, this position owns shift-level execution, while the programs, specifications, and procedures themselves are created and approved above it. This position works closely with the operations departments to meet Company goals and to support a team environment across the facility. This position must understand, promote and have a Creekstone Proud mindset that positively enhances the Company culture, being an example of appropriate behavior, attitude, and respect for others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide leadership and direction to the hourly QA Technicians on the assigned shift. Train, coach, develop, appraise, and when necessary discipline the QA Technicians, with appropriate feedback. Ensure sanitation, food safety, and regulatory requirements are met daily. Maintain quality standards by ensuring product is produced to Company specifications. Investigate customer complaints for quality defects. Carry out the quality and food safety programs, specifications, and procedures as directed by the QA Superintendent. Update the quality manual when directed. Recommend improvements to current quality programs to the QA Superintendent. Maintain accurate business and quality records. Verify labor hours and payroll report accuracy. Maintain a cost-effective schedule that makes best use of labor and supply resources. Enforce health and safety policies in the work area, including for employees outside the department. Refer upward to the QA Superintendent regulatory findings, customer escalations, and decisions beyond this authority. Develop and promote positive working relationships with employees, peers, leaders, and all others. All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior supervisory experience preferred. Working knowledge of beef processing, ground beef, and USDA regulatory requirements. Experience working with a diverse labor force. HACCP, BRC, PAACO, and PCQI credentials preferred; none required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Solid problem solving, project management, multitasking, and prioritization skills. Detail oriented, organized, reliable, and resourceful, with high expectations for self and others. Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite. Clear communication skills verbally and in written form presenting ideas, concerns, and questions in a well thought out, positive, and professional manner. Able to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment, dealing effectively with change. Able to stand, sit, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and type for extended periods. Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally. Able to work in office and production environments with varying temperature, moderate noise, and required PPE. Availability to work the assigned shift, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed. On-site position at the Arkansas City, KS facility.
