  • Philadelphia, PA Our client is an established manufacturing organization specializing in precision metal fabrication and finishing.

The Quality Control Manager will lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company's Quality Management System (QMS), supporting

ISO 9001

2015 compliance and implementation of AS9100 requirements within an aerospace and defense precision machining environment. This position oversees quality systems, dimensional inspection, First Article Inspection (FAI), document control, supplier quality, corrective actions, audit readiness, and compliance with customer engineering drawings and contractual requirements.

Responsibilities:

Conduct Contract Reviews (Determination of Requirements), reviewing and documenting customer purchase orders, quality requirements, engineering drawings, specifications, and other contractual requirements. Perform and manage First Article Inspection (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements, along with in-process and final dimensional inspection. Maintain the Quality Manual, procedures, work instructions, Quality Management System documentation, and controlled documents. Develop inspection plans and sampling strategies based on customer, engineering, and quality requirements. Oversee the proper use, calibration, and control of precision inspection and metrology equipment, including CMMs, micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measurement tools. Establish and maintain nonconformance and nonconforming material control processes, including NCR documentation and disposition. Lead root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methods including 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone analysis. Implement, document, and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Evaluate, approve, and monitor suppliers and subcontractors through supplier audits, performance reviews, and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs). Ensure material traceability and certification compliance for incoming materials and outside services. Serve as the primary quality contact for external audits, including registrar, customer, and regulatory audits. Supervise quality inspectors and technicians and provide training on quality procedures, dimensional inspection methods, and compliance requirements. Support continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma initiatives.

Qualifications:

7+ years of progressive experience in quality management within aerospace/defense precision machining, CNC machining, or a closely related regulated precision manufacturing environment. 3+ years of experience managing or administering an

ISO 9001

Quality Management System (QMS), including document control, internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement. Strong knowledge of

ISO 9001

2015 and familiarity with AS9100 requirements, with the ability to support implementation of AS9100. Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 requirements within a precision manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, blueprints, dimensional inspection, and inspection methods used in precision machining and manufacturing. Hands-on experience with precision inspection and metrology equipment, including CMMs, micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measurement tools. Experience with nonconformance control, root cause analysis, corrective actions, CAPA, and quality audit processes.

Compensation:

Base salary in the 100k
