Quality Manager The Quality Manager leads the day-to-day operations of the Quality Assurance Department to ensure that the company's commercial and residential treatment systems and control panels meet or exceed customer requirements. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to develop, implement, and monitor procedures and work instructions that drive product quality and consistency for both internal and external customers. The Quality Manager is responsible for leading Quality Analysts and Quality Auditors, reducing process variation, ensuring acceptable outgoing quality levels, and maintaining compliance with
ISO 9001
standards. This role also leads cross-functional Six Sigma initiatives focused on continuous improvement and permanent root cause corrective actions. Core Responsibilities Quality Systems & Compliance Ensure compliance with
ISO 9001
standards and established quality objectives. Prepare for, lead, and manage external audits. Maintain integrity of quality systems and documentation. Ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards including UL, IEC, and CE requirements. Ensure calibration and maintenance of all testing and inspection instruments. Manufacturing Quality Oversight Direct incoming inspection and testing of materials, components, and finished products. Validate final inspection and testing of completed control panels, including high voltage and functional testing, and label verification. Ensure inspection records and test reports are complete, accurate, and traceable to each product serial number. Ensure Product Quality Plans are implemented and Quality Standards are clearly defined to detect defects early (e.g., wiring errors, torque settings, cable routing). Audit manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure compliance with best-in-class practices. Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving Lead investigations into product quality issues, analyze data, and implement corrective action plans. Apply Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodologies to resolve quality issues and reduce variation. Lead and/or participate in scrap reduction initiatives. Utilize performance and measurement data to develop and implement continuous improvement action plans with defined objectives and timelines. Perform statistical analysis and provide data-driven recommendations. Leadership & Development Develop, measure, and report internal and external quality performance metrics. Establish and monitor objectives for direct reports to ensure effectiveness and accountability. Manage, train, and mentor Quality Engineers, Analysts, and Inspectors. Create and maintain clear, accurate Work Instructions (WIs) to standardize production and testing methods. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering from an accredited four-year institution. Experience Minimum 7 years of experience in Quality. Minimum 3 years in a Quality Management or leadership role. Experience leading cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives. Technical Knowledge & Skills Strong knowledge of UL 508A standards. Knowledge of polymer testing methodologies. Experience with root cause analysis, statistical analysis, and process improvement methodologies (Six Sigma preferred). Experience working within
ISO 9001
quality systems. Familiarity with electrical control panel manufacturing and testing processes preferred.
