Job Description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Quality Manager will lead delivery of Quality results and the overall Quality program for the site. They will assure the quality and consistency of production by monitoring processes and checking finished displays to assure delivery of all Summit Quality requirements. The Quality Manager will be the point of contact for all External and Internal Quality customer and regulatory organizations assuring inspection readiness and keeping adequate records for quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems;managing schedules and workflow.
  • Assumes Network and/or Site Quality systems ownership
  • Interprets current regulatory requirements and remains current on developing regulatory actions. Ensures cGMP compliance and acts as the primary interface for regulatory inspections.
  • Acts as the primary host for customer and third-party audits.
  • Responsible for coordinating an effective Corrective and Preventative Action system.
  • Coordinates with other managers and associates to identify critical success factors, develop measurement systems, and implement continuous process improvement methodologies.
  • Designs, develops and implements comprehensive quality assurance programs.
  • Maintains, enforces, and measures quality assurance processes.
  • Defines and manages an end-to-end test environment including but not limited to selecting tools, methods, and processes.
  • Reviews and evaluates services to correct deficiencies and formulate improvements.
  • Assures on-time delivery of new projects; ensures product quality, performance, and conformity with established specifications.
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of new programs, services, and projects; monitors progress and evaluates results; recommends changes or other action as appropriate.
  • Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
  • Keeps up to date on the team's overall activities, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
  • Be an advocate for safe work habits, and a safe work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing company standards, GMPs, PPE requirements, and procedures.
  • Conducts documentation generation, review, and verification regarding daily production results.
  • Supports resolution of incoming materials issues, assists with disposition, and follows through with suppliers.
  • Assists in mock recalls
  • Completes root cause analysis, prepares audit reports, and performs follow-up for quality system failures to obtain resolutions compliant with regulations and satisfactory to all parties.
  • Lead product nonconformance investigations and complete trend analysis to support continuous improvement.
  • Prepares impact assessments for process and procedural deviations.
  • Maintains auditing schedules.
  • Maintains quality assurance databases, reports, and files
  • Prepares, performs, and documents training to ensure personnel have the appropriate training and understanding of QA systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, management, team members, and other departments.
  • Performs required administrative tasks; prepares required reports and correspondence.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred
  • 3-5 years management experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing and motivating subordinates
  • Quality Assurance work experience (FDA-regulated business preferred)
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering quality improvement through trend analysis and action planning.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills for root cause analysis
  • Possess high professional ethics, dependability, good judgment, and the ability to take decisive action
  • Effective communication/presentation skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Must have a basic knowledge of lean manufacturing.
  • General Professional Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English (bilingual a plus)
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Attentive to detail, organized, and passionate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to: stand; walk; sit; use hands finger dexterity, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift, push, or move items up to 50 pounds. Use visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and use a keyboard. Frequently work near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally work in high, precarious places. Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals. Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and loud noises. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires work in both an office setting and a warehouse setting. Work occasionally requires "after-hours" communication or extended work hours, including weekend or evening work. Working conditions in the warehouse setting may or may not be environmentally controlled resulting in hot or cold temperatures.
