GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure products and processes meet customer specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements. This role drives continuous improvement initiatives, oversees quality assurance and quality control activities, manages customer quality concerns, and promotes a culture of operational excellence throughout the organization. The Quality Manager partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Product Manager, Sales and Customer Service teams to improve product quality, reduce defects, enhance customer satisfaction, and support company growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards. Develop, implement, and improve quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and control plans. Ensure compliance with customer requirements, internal specifications, and regulatory standards. Manage internal and external audits, including customer and certification audits. Monitor quality performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary. Drive continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. Analyze quality data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvements. Facilitate corrective and preventive action (CAPA) programs. Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and complaints. Support supplier qualification, audits, and performance evaluations. Monitor incoming material quality and supplier defect trends. Partner with production teams to ensure adherence to quality standards. Ensure appropriate inspection methods, measurement systems, and calibration controls are maintained. Establish departmental goals aligned with company objectives and lead, mentor, and develop Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Quality Technicians. Provide quality-related training across the organization. Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered. 7+ years of progressive quality management experience in a manufacturing environment. 3+ years of leadership or managerial experience. Experience working within ISO 9001-certified organizations. Experience supporting customer-facing quality activities and corrective action processes. ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE), CQE, or similar certification. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
ISO 9001
Lead Auditor qualification. Experience with plastics manufacturing, injection molding, automation components, or industrial products.
