About Us Family Centered Services of Alaska (FCSA) is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) corporation founded in 1989 by Fairbanks, Alaska community members committed to helping children with a wide spectrum of behavioral and mental health needs. Today, FCSA has over 100 employees dedicated to our mission of providing unconditional care to children and their families. FCSA provides behavioral and mental health services to youth aged 5-19. Services include outpatient therapy, education, foster care, and short or long-term residential treatment. FCSA is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and was one of the first organizations to be licensed by the state to establish, recruit, and monitor foster homes. About the Job Family Centered Services of Alaska is looking for a qualified individual to fill the Quality Assurance Specialist role in our organization. The Quality Assurance Specialist will provide the day-to-day Quality Assurance for FCSA. They will work to provide support to leaders and departments to ensure that all FCSA treatment forms, documentation, and treatment standards meet or exceed all applicable federal, state, accreditor, or funding agency laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Complete reviews and audits of client record forms as assigned to provide insight and data to leaders and their teams regarding the compliance and quality of documentation in accordance with payor, licensing, state, and accreditor regulations. Complete audit compliance scores and qualitative data to report current and trending outcomes to leaders and stakeholders regarding record documentation and other treatment metrics. Provide FCSA Training Department education in completion of client documentation and assist in training program staff in how to complete forms and/or make appropriate treatment documentation as assigned. Acts as a technical resource to staff. Process and/or complete satisfaction surveys for stakeholders, clients, and staff as assigned. Process all records requests in accordance with HIPAA and agency policy, maintaining an accurate accounting of all PHI disclosures. Ensure newly hired staff successfully obtain their National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers, providing guidance and follow-up during onboarding. Manage the Medicaid enrollment process for new providers to ensure timely activation for billing and service delivery. Review billing error logs to identify issues preventing claims from processing, resolve errors when appropriate, and coordinate with billing staff to support accurate claim submission. Community liaison that will represent FCSA to the professional and social community. The ability to think creatively, develop abstract ideas, and provide both short- and long-range visionary strategies. Other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a field that will provide necessary training to perform the duties of the position, preferred.

Some of those skills include:

familiarity with data collection systems, information system design, and computer program operation. Superior verbal and written communication skills. One year of experience in quality assurance administration. A thorough understanding of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and Power-Point. Knowledge of Alaska childcare, Alaska child and family service system, Medicaid regulations, DMHDD, and juvenile justice regulations, laws, and policies. Knowledge of accreditor standards for Behavioral Health Services. Current Alaska driver's license, personal vehicle insurance, and driving history that allows for insurability by FCSA auto insurance carrier. Freedom from criminal convictions that may adversely affect the employee's ability to work safely with children, contingent on a fingerprint & background records check conducted by the State of Alaska Division of Health Care Services Background Check Unit. This position is a driving position . Applicants will be required to submit a driving record if selected for the position. All applicants must be at least 21 years of age due to State of AK regulations and must pass a State of AK Background Check.
