Perform visual and physical inspections of painted parts and assemblies to ensure proper coverage, adhesion, gloss, texture, and color accuracy. Identify and document paint defects such as runs, sags, orange peel, fisheyes, contamination, and overspray. Communicate non-conformance issues to Paint Production Technician. Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of painted components before they proceed to assembly or shipment. Assist in paint line audits, process validations, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and hazardous material handling regulations.
Qualifications/Skills:
1+ years of experience in paint quality inspection within an automotive or manufacturing environment. Knowledge of automotive painting processes, coatings, curing methods, and common defects. Ability to read and interpret work instructions, technical specifications, and inspection reports. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented production environment. Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 15lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and various materials. Requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Full-time, with potential for overtime based on production needs. Shifts may include days, evenings, or weekends.
