As a Quality Control Technician with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials you will be responsible for ensuring quality control of batching, mixing, and delivering high-quality ready-mixed concrete that meets project specifications and customer expectations. Role Responsibilities:
Perform QC tests (air content, slump/workability, coarseness/sandiness, yield, set time, water-cement ratio, strength). Investigate potential quality deficiencies through evaluating available data and observing in-place concrete characteristics and environmental factors. Determine QC coverage priorities and communicate project specific testing needs with available staff Evaluate mix strength performance using key performance indicators to make necessary mix adjustments to maintain adequate overdesign. Maintain required documentation, certifications and mix data for annual and biannual submittals to CDOT/UDOT and other governing bodies having authority. Review project specifications and general structural notes to recommend appropriate mix designs for the required applications. Create Submittals as needed based on those recommendations Coordinate trial batching in anticipation of high priority or technical concrete placements. Depending on need they will spend roughly 50-75% of their time at the batch plant or in the field performing testing and assessing mix designs in their plastic state. Sample and test raw materials for specification compliance. Record and communicate test results to dispatch, batch personnel, and customers. Troubleshoot fresh and hardened concrete to identify quality issues.
About You We Require:
Bachelor Degree (B.A.) preferred. A minimum of 1-3years of QC experience within a construction, industrial, or manufacturing environment. Good organizational and math skills.
