Job Description

Job Summary Urological Associates of Western Colorado (UAWC) is hiring a Pharmacy Technician / Materials Coordinator to support our Advanced Prostate Cancer Clinic and in-office medically integrated dispensary. This is a hybrid role — part pharmacy technician, part inventory and supply-chain coordinator — for someone who's detail-oriented and comfortable juggling multiple priorities. You'll work directly with physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, our Nurse Navigator, and practice leadership, and you'll be the person who keeps both patient medications and clinic supplies flowing without interruption.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of a pharmacy technician program. Knowledge of pharmacy law, healthcare financing, and medical terminology. Proficiency with a personal computer including: Microsoft Office 365 products (i.e. Excel). Experience with Analytics. Prior experience with inventory management, purchasing, or supply ordering strongly preferred. Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, including comfort coordinating with outside vendor and pharmaceutical representatives.
Skills:
Completes appropriate reports when required. Arrives on time. Attends at least 75% of staff meetings. Completes annual mandatory training. Ex.
OSHA, FWA, HIPAA.
Attends in-services on new procedures, policies as directed. Understands and follows other regulatory requirements as applicable. Critical thinking ability to anticipate patient and physician needs. What You'll Do Dispensary & Patient Support Receive medication orders from the Cancer Clinic physician or Navigator and process them through our dispensing software, resolving any eligibility issues or denials Track prescription pick-up dates and keep patients informed Research patient charts to complete prior authorization forms and prevent payment denials Help patients access financial assistance — monitoring foundation funding, managing grant balances, and moving patients between assistance programs as needed Troubleshoot insurance denials and medication substitutions in coordination with the prescribing physician Monitor authorization status via ModMed and keep documentation audit-ready Look for funding opportunities Inventory & Materials Management Own ordering and stock levels for our specialty dispensary medications (including Eligard, Prolia, Xgeva, TICE BCG, Adstiladrin, Inlexzo, and related supplies), monitoring par levels so we never run short Monitor pricing changes and keep our dispensing software (BestRx) up to date Receive and reconcile shipments against purchase orders and invoices, resolving discrepancies with vendors Track expiration dates and rotate stock to minimize waste Order general office and clinical supplies (copy paper, breakroom, cleaning supplies, appointment cards, signature stamps, etc.) Coordinate with pharmaceutical representatives on scheduling and lunch presentations Represent the pharmacy/dispensary function at Cancer Clinic meetings What You Bring Completion of a pharmacy technician program or Medical Assistant willing to learn. Comfort with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and willingness to learn our systems (BestRx, ModMed) Prior experience with inventory, purchasing, or supply ordering —preferred Excellent organizational skills and follow-through; this role touches patient care, insurance, and vendors, often in the same hour Strong communication skills, both with patients and with outside vendor/pharma reps Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally (receiving shipments) and stay on your feet through a mixed sitting/standing/walking day Schedule & Compensation Full-time, in-office at our Grand Junction location No night, weekends or holidays Why

is a physician-owned urology practice, part of Colorado Surgical Affiliates. In this role, your work directly affects patients navigating advanced prostate cancer treatment —a visible, essential part of a small, specialized team.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, and walking in alternating needs throughout the workday. Occasional lifting of not more than 50 pounds (lifting over this amount with assistance) — including receiving and stocking incoming medication and supply shipments. Extensive computer use. Extensive telephone use for communications with patients, providers, and other care givers. Ability to multi-task and complete many roles throughout a routine work shift.
Pay:
$21.50 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
