JOB SUMMARY
: Performs various quality checks on parts & assemblies being produced to ensure product meets quality standards. Document finding on the required forms & Traveler.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
but not limited to the following: 1
  • Check that tools and equipment are working properly. 2
  • Inspect incoming material used for production. 3
  • Inspect inprocess welding, fabrication & final assembly. 4
  • Inspect and report on returned product (RGA). 5
  • Verify that all procedures & Work Instructions are being followed. 6
  • Make recommendations for improvement of the quality of our product and inspection of product. 7
  • Keep the work area clean & orderly. 8
  • Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities indicated above satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • QUALITY
TECHNICIAN WELDING
1
  • Inspect first parts produced and that components are positioned according to print standard. This includes print notes & dimensions. 2
  • Check welds for penetration of both components and that there is no porosity. 3
  • Inspect previous process on a few parts. 4
  • Inspect periodically during the course of the run. 5
  • Inspect as many parts as possible. Aim for 100% inspection. 6
  • Document findings on the Inprocess Inspection & Final Audit Form & Sign-Off on the Traveler.
FABRICATED PARTS

  • Verify (using print & traveler) that the correct material is being used for the parts to be fabricated. 2
  • Measure first pieces produced that they dimensionally meet print specification, overlay sample part when possible. 3
  • Inspect periodically during the course of the run. 4
  • Inspect as many parts as possible. Aim for 100% inspection. 5
  • Document findings on the Inprocess Inspection & Final Audit Form & Sign-Off on the Traveler.
FINAL AUDIT

  • Verify that staged parts are correct to the Traveler. 2
  • Verify that the number of pieces of the staged parts are correct to the Traveler. 3
  • Sign off on the Traveler in the QA 1st Pcs Column that all staged parts are present & ready to assemble. 4
  • Sign off on the Final Assembly Form in the column for staged parts. 5
  • Verify that labels are applied correctly. Sign off on the Traveler in the QA WIP Column. Document finds on the Final Assembly Audit Form. 6
  • Periodically walk through the final assembly area to ensure the assembly process is being followed. 7
  • Once assembly of units are complete and meet specification and serial #'s are applied.
Sign off on Traveler in the QA Final Column. Document finds on the Final Assembly Audit Form and Initial.
