Position Summary The Construction Materials Testing Technician supports EG Solutions' geotechnical and concrete laboratory operations by collecting samples and assisting with construction materials testing activities. This entry-level position supports testing of soil, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt materials in accordance with applicable FDOT and FAA standards, project specifications, and established testing procedures. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, eager to learn, and interested in developing technical skills within the geotechnical and construction materials testing field. Previous laboratory experience is not required. Training will be provided, with opportunities to complete applicable classes and industry certifications as the employee develops in the position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collect samples in accordance with applicable FDOT and FAA requirements, project specifications, and established quality standards.
- Transport and handle samples appropriately for testing and evaluation.
- Assist with soil, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt testing in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist with the preparation of accurate and timely laboratory test results and reports.
- Follow established testing procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with the Lab Manager, clients, engineers, and project managers regarding testing and project needs.
- Participate in company-provided training, classes, and certification programs as assigned.
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation related to assigned testing and sampling activities.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe laboratory and work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
- Ability and willingness to learn geotechnical and construction materials testing procedures.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated reliability and ability to work responsibly with limited supervision. Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction, laboratory testing, materials testing, or a related field.
- Familiarity with soil, aggregate, concrete, or asphalt materials.
- Has certifications in FDOT, ACI, or other applicable industry certifications. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions This position operates in a combination of field, laboratory, and project-site environments. Work may be performed at airports, construction sites, geotechnical and concrete laboratories, and other project locations. The employee must be able to:
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
- Stand and walk for extended periods while performing field and laboratory activities.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform other physical activities associated with sample collection and materials testing.
- Frequently use testing equipment, hand tools, computers, telephones, and other standard laboratory or field equipment.
- Handle soil, aggregate, concrete, asphalt, and other construction material samples.
- Move samples, materials, supplies, and testing equipment as required to perform assigned duties.
- Communicate effectively with employees, clients, engineers, project managers, and other project stakeholders.
- Adapt to changing project schedules, assignments, and field conditions. May include nights and weekends at the discretion of the supervisor. Travel Requirements
- Regular local or regional travel to project sites, airports, laboratories, and other work locations may be required.
- Travel requirements will vary based on project assignments and testing needs.
- A valid driver's license is required.
