Job Description

Cox Automotive seeks a Quality Control Body Repair Tech II to inspect, repair, and finish vehicle bodies within our remarketing operations. You will perform detailed body and paint assessments, ensure repairs meet safety and cosmetic standards, document defects, and verify work quality before vehicles go to auction or retail channels. Collaborating with technicians and supervisors, you'll interpret repair orders, use body and refinishing tools, and follow standardized processes and safety protocols to deliver consistent, high-quality results that reflect Cox Automotive's commitment to excellence. Responsibilities Inspect incoming vehicles for body, structural, and paint defects Perform body repairs, including dent, panel, and bumper repair Execute sanding, masking, and refinishing to meet quality standards Verify repair quality before vehicles move to auction or retail channels Document defects, repairs, and quality findings in shop systems Follow standardized processes, safety rules, and shop procedures Collaborate with technicians and supervisors to resolve complex repairs Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work area Support continuous improvement of reconditioning and quality processes Test-drive or move vehicles as needed for inspection and verification Required Skills Automotive body repair Automotive painting and refinishing Vehicle inspection and quality control Use of body shop tools and equipment Surface prep, sanding, and masking Estimating and documenting vehicle damage Reading repair orders and work instructions Safety and OSHA compliance Color matching and blending Detailing and final finish standards
