Position Summary The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all manufactured parts meet customer specifications and company quality standards. This position performs dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment and a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), prepares parts for shipment through deburring and surface preparation, and maintains inspection documentation. This role is hands-on and supports production by helping deliver high-quality parts on time. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Inspect machined parts using precision measuring equipment, including: Calipers Micrometers Height gauges Bore gauges Thread gauges Pin gauges Optical comparator (if applicable) Program and operate a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to verify dimensional compliance. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications. Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections. Record inspection results and maintain quality documentation. Identify and report nonconforming parts and assist with corrective actions. Deburr machined parts using hand tools and pneumatic tools while maintaining dimensional integrity and cosmetic appearance. Surface prep parts for shipment by cleaning, removing oils, applying rust preventative when required, and ensuring customer-specific finish requirements are met. Perform final visual inspections before packaging and shipping. Assist with packaging finished products to prevent damage during shipment. Maintain calibration awareness of inspection equipment. Work closely with machinists and management to resolve quality issues. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a CNC machining environment preferred. Experience operating and programming a CMM preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T. Strong understanding of machining processes and tolerances. Experience using precision measuring instruments. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic computer skills for inspection reports and quality documentation. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Skills Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems. Experience with CMM software such as PC-DMIS, MeasureMax, or similar. Understanding of statistical process control (SPC). Experience with first article inspections (FAI). Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently lift up to 40 pounds. Manual dexterity required for handling small precision parts. Good vision (corrected if necessary) to inspect fine details and surface finishes. Work Environment CNC machine shop. Exposure to machine noise, coolants, and metal chips. Required use of safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE. Performance Expectations Success in this role is measured by: Accurate inspection of parts to customer specifications. Timely completion of inspections without delaying production. Proper operation and maintenance of CMM equipment. High-quality deburring and surface preparation. Accurate documentation and traceability. Low customer returns and quality-related defects. Pay:

$27.00 - $32.00 per hour
