Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Technician is primarily responsible for examining material received from outside vendors as well as in-house production processes using standard sampling processes ensuring that all products fulfill our customer specifications and quality requirements.
PRIMARY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to: Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor. Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work. Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database. Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read and understand product specifications, customer and regulatory requirements Ability to work independently with limited supervision Experience using measuring instruments including micrometers, scanners and scales Ability to perform precise measurements and inspections to assure compliance Ability to develop and document quality measurement metrics Ability to read, write and speak English Ability to perform basic mathematical operations using units of dimension and weight measurements Ability to inspect printed material for content, weight, finish and color match Must have good organizational skills and a strong attention to detail Must have competent computer skills Recognize continuous improvement processes and participate in improvement projects Safety minded at all times Demonstrate positive team-oriented behavior at all times Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with teammates
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
All work is in an environmentally controlled warehouse environment Will lift and carry up to 40lbs regularly Will stand for long periods of time while reaching with hands and arms Will frequently lift, twist, reach and bend
