CDM is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Machine Shop Parts Inspector to join our Quality team. This position is responsible for ensuring machined components meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and company quality standards prior to assembly or shipment. The ideal candidate has a strong background in precision inspection, blueprint interpretation, and the use of advanced measuring equipment in a manufacturing environment. As a key member of our Quality Department, you will work closely with machinists, engineers, and production personnel to ensure the highest level of product quality for our customers in the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect machined parts and assemblies to verify dimensional accuracy and conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Perform first-piece, first-article, in-process, and final inspections of machined components.
Verify critical dimensions during machine setup and throughout production to ensure process capability.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or other regulated quality management systems.
Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) in accordance with AS9102.
Certification as a Quality Inspector (CQI), Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI), or equivalent quality certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive inspection tasks throughout the workday.
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity required for precision inspection work.
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, equipment, and normal shop noise.

Compensation:
$50,000 - $60,000 commensurate with education and experience
